MapleViewFarm

One of Orange County’s hidden little treats is a visit to Maple View Farm’s County Store for some delicious ice cream!   The building resembles an old country store, with a full front porch and rocking chairs so you can enjoy your ice cream overlooking the rolling pastures nearby.  Inside is a huge selection of flavors and different cone choices, and also banana splits, originals like the “chocolate cappuccino” milkshake, and other ice cream confections.

You can also purchase milk—whole or skim—and the best chocolate milk you’ve ever tasted, along with beef from the farm.  The also sell honey and cheese from small local producers.  On my recent visit I purchased a pint sized milk jug (with lid) that featured their name, which I plan to use for things like salad dressing or sauces.

You can purchase Maple View Farm’s items at several locations, but my favorite place is right at the quaint Country Store within sight of the farm at the intersection of Dairyland and Rocky Ridge roads, only a few minutes drive from north Chapel Hill or Carrboro.  Store hours are noon til 9pm, 7 days a week.

About a half mile from the Maple View Farm Country Store, Connie Shuping of Keller Williams Realty Chapel Hill has a home listed for sale at 7217 Crescent Ridge Drive.  Wouldn’t it be nice to live where you can jog, walk or bike down for some ice cream?
