CFLs 

Compact florescent light bulbs (CFLs) use two-thirds less energy and last 10 times longer than traditional incandescent light bulbs.  For every CFL in place of an incadescent bulb, you save $4.80 annually (or $36 in energy costs over the life of the CFL) according to Piedmont Electric.  In addition, Piedmont Electric customers can receive up to $15 annually on their electric bill by using CFL bulbs.  A .50 cent credit is given (up to $15) by mailing a receipt for each installed CFL to:
