- Spirits of Hillsborough Halloween Tour - Fri. Oct. 30th at the Alexander Dickson House, 150 E. King Street, Hillsborough, NC 27278. Tours will be held from 7:00, 7:30, 8:00 & 8:30 pm and last one hour. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 5-15 yrs. Tickets may be purchased in advance, (919) 732-7741. Participate in a walking guided tour of Hillsborough’s Historic District.
- Halloween Silent Movie: Nosferatu - Fri. Oct. 30th at the Masonic Temple, 142 W. King Street, Hillsborough, NC 27278. The 1922 silent movie is directed by F.W. Murnau and stars Max Schreck as the vampire, is considered to be the best vampire film ever. Music for the movie will be provided by Vamplifire - Peter Estep on piano, David Morris on Tuba and Steven Burnett on theremin. The trio will blend a mix of classical, ragtime, popular music and soundscapes to compliment the scenes of the movie. This event is sponsored by the Hillsborough Arts Council. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door available at the Visitor’s Center and online.
- Spooky Organ Music - Fri. Oct 30th at Hillsborough Presbyterian Church, 102 W. Tryon Street, Hillsborough, NC 27278. Vlad the Impaler will serenade the spirits at 6:30 and 8:00. Treats will be offered to children.
- 2nd Annual Chili and Salsa Cookoff - Sat. Oct. 31st from noon to 4pm at the Eno River Parking Deck directly behind Weaver Street Market on Nash & Kollack Street. Registration for entries is due on Oct. 28th. Click here for the application to enter.
